* About Us *

My wife Margie and I have participated in Katelynn’s
ride for several years, mostly because we enjoyed
riding and the fun of it. Just three weeks after
completing “K-Ride 2005,” we found ourselves at the
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute receiving our then two-
year old daughter Allison’s diagnosis. Allison
underwent one year of chemotherapy in efforts to
shrink a tumor on her optic nerve, and after
treatments were unsuccessful, “Allie” underwent
eight and one half-hours of major brain surgery to
remove the tumor. This procedure also required the
removal of her optic nerve. Although she is now blind
in her right eye, she is still a happy and healthy five-
year-old girl. As a way of showing our gratitude for
saving our little girl, we decided to put on this annual
event to honor our daughter and all those who
continue to fight their battle with cancer.
The sound of Jimmy Buffett music got our family
through the every Friday treatments.  The song, “It’s
Five O’Clock Somewhere” ,Allie's favorite, became
our family’s anthem less for the significance to
cocktails and more for the affirmation that
somewhere life was worry free. When we decided to
do this fund-raiser it was only natural that we do
something with Jimmy or at least his music.
That's where Steve and his band Changes in
Latitudes joined us. This year we decided to make
the show bigger and better by adding a second
band. Steve knew Ted over at Briefcase Full of Blues
and once we talked about it they where quick to
jump on board. You see they too have had Friends
and Family affected by Cancer and have wanted to
do something to honor them.
